About Me

I’m Tavasi Silvas, PhD (they/them), biochemist, artist, mushroom cultivator, and educator. I work at the intersection of mushroom cultivation, food and medicine sovereignty, and community-rooted healing. Through Tavasi Labs, I support organizations and land-based projects in bringing fungi into their ecosystems—with reverence, strategy, and imagination. My work blends hands-on cultivation, intuitive science, and culturally grounded education to help teams grow mushrooms in ways that nourish land, people, and collective purpose.

  • Cultivation system design: community-scale, tech-integrated, and reverence-based
  • Collaboration on fungi-centered retreats, land-based programs, or public workshops
